GICA 1

Hello! My name is Jackelyn Banda-Soto. I am a sophomore at Florida State University. I plan on majoring in Elementary Education and becoming a second-grade teacher at a Title 1 school. I as well plan on returning to my town and giving back to my community. Some fun facts about me are: I am Mexican-American, I love to paint, and I enjoy the beach.

I have used technology in my educational life almost daily. Since elementary school, I was taught to use interactive boards, iPad's, and laptops. Since then, it has become an essential part of my everyday life. When studying in high school, the teachers would make a Kahoot game, instead of traditionally going through the motions of reading a textbook or going over a sheet. Currently, I am writing this blog for a class, again using technology. There has not been a class where I don't use technology.

I am really excited about this class as I feel it will excel my knowledge and fluency on technology. With that being said, I hope to learn about more efficient and safer ways to use technology in my future classroom setting. Learning about those two skills will enhance the use of technology for my students, and hopefully, help them engage more.
